Winter   Spring Summer Fall

  • Indoor air quality is a concern for all seasons. Investing in a quality hygrometer is a good idea. Once calibrated, a hygrometer accurately monitors relative humidity in your home. The goal is to keep the relative humidity between 40-50% at all times. Resist the urge to use a humidifier which can be a breeding ground for bacteria, and must be cleaned daily. Often the relative humidity is too high in our homes due in part to moisture from cooking, showering, hanging up of wet laundry in the house and the number of people living in the home. Remember that dust mites and moulds thrive in damp environments.
  • When it comes to dust mite control, follow this simple rule:
If you cannot remove it, then encase it, wash it or wipe it.
